Born in Caloocan City, Philippines, Dots was surrounded by relatives who loved to bake cakes and desserts. Migrating to Australia in 1989 didn’t diminish her interest in food and cooking and in 1989 Dots completed her Masters Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition with Sydney University. She worked as a Dietitian for several years until resigning from fulltime work to concentrate on raising a family. Dots is happily married to Mitch and has two sons, Jonah and Zac.
Jaz grew up in Davao, Philippines with a baking guru for a mother. However, it was only when she migrated to Australia in 2004 as an accountant did she have the opportunity to put her mother’s great recipes to good use and sharpen her cooking and baking skills. Jaz is married to Jake.
Over the 5 years of friendship between Dots and Jaz, the frequent “taste-testing” and “recipe exchange” eventually became serious baking and cake decorating training sessions. Family, friends and church mates regularly benefited from their baked specialties and experimentations. Venturing into the outside market, their cakepops and silvanas were a hit in the Woodcroft Fiesta 2009. With supportive husbands recently funding their commercial-sized ovens, Dots and Jaz took the next plausible step and created Treat Box.
Dots and Jaz are passionate about creating delicious cakes, desserts and delicacies that have a pleasurable and memorable effect on your eyes and tastebuds.
